SEACOM Trailer Systems is a German manufacturer of transport equipment for industry and ports with 40 years of experience. The programme comprises roll trailers, chassis, towed trailers, goosenecks, tipping and lifting trailers, cassettes, rail transport carts and self-propelled platform carts with capacities from 5 to 350 tonnes. Okovje is the SEACOM representative for Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bulgaria.

SEACOM Trailer Systems builds roll trailers, heavy towed trailers, chassis, cassettes, rail transport carts, goosenecks and self-propelled platform carts – practically everything tailored to the specific application and the customer's needs.
Self-propelled platform carts

Self-propelled platform carts are designed for moving heavy loads along variable routes within a plant. Thanks to a compact design with integrated drive and steering, they handle loads up to about 130 tonnes even in very confined spaces. They are operated via a cabled control panel or by radio remote control. Three drive versions are available: single-axle or front-axle drive, all-wheel drive with diagonal travel, and multidirectional drive with longitudinal, transverse, diagonal and circular travel. Completed examples include electric platform carts for 10, 30, 32, 55 and 60 tonnes.
Benefits
- Manoeuvring in a small space. Multidirectional drive allows transverse and circular travel, eliminating the need for manoeuvring lanes.
- No towing vehicle. The cart has its own drive, so it does not tie up a tractor and driver for every move.
- Operation from a safe distance. Radio remote control lets the operator watch the load from outside and position it precisely.
Applications
- Mechanical engineering – moving large welded and machined assemblies between workstations.
- Steelworks and the metal industry – moving coils, plates and semi-finished products between lines.
- Transport of oversized products – the manufacturer cites a 55-tonne version with a lifting function for moving poles and columns within a plant.
Roll trailers and platform trailers

The roll trailer system, consisting of a roll trailer and a gooseneck, has been used in heavy transport for decades and is increasingly common in industrial plants as well. The gooseneck, which can be removable or fixed, connects the trailer to the tractor. Capacities range from 25 to 200 tonnes, and versions include pneumatic tyres, removable coil wells, container guides, low-profile designs, removable headboards, lengths of 40 and 48 feet, coupling points at both ends and versions with an insulating cover.
Benefits
- The tractor is not tied to the load. Once the trailer is in place, it is uncoupled and the tractor is immediately available for the next job.
- Simple handling. The system is designed for quick coupling and uncoupling without additional machinery.
- Tailored to the load. Coil wells, container guides and covers are built to match the actual cargo.
Applications
- Steelworks – transporting coils and hot semi-finished products; the manufacturer cites a version for coils at temperatures up to 750 °C.
- Construction and precast elements – transporting prestressed concrete slabs and tunnelling elements.
- Ports and RoRo terminals – moving containers and project cargo on and off the ship.
Heavy towed trailers

SEACOM heavy towed trailers are built in versions adapted to the load and the conditions in the plant, with capacities from 10 to 300 tonnes. The programme covers three steering principles: turntable steering (front and, if needed, rear), Ackermann steering and pivot-pillar steering. The range of heavy towed trailers extends from version 10 with a capacity of up to 20 tonnes to version 70-X with all-axle steering for capacities above 60 tonnes and version 90-X for capacities above 50 tonnes. The heavy towed trailers also include a liquid-steel transporter with a capacity of 260 tonnes.
Benefits
- Steering chosen for the actual route. Different steering principles allow optimisation for narrow aisles, large turning angles or trains of several trailers.
- Even load distribution. Oscillating axle assemblies and bogies distribute the load evenly even on uneven floors.
- Robustness with low maintenance. The design is aimed at a long service life with minimal maintenance.
Applications
- Trailer trains – versions with removable drawbars at both ends allow trains to be assembled.
- Steelworks – moving coils, ladles and hot material between units.
- Mechanical engineering and heavy industry – internal transport of heavy assemblies between halls.
Chassis

SEACOM chassis are designed for transporting coils, ladles, hot slabs and hazardous cargo. They are available in lengths from 20 feet (6 m) upwards, with capacities up to 80 tonnes, with pneumatic or solid (super-elastic) tyres and various weather-protection systems. Completed examples include chassis with coil wells, with covered wells and with a platform covered in steel plates.
Benefits
- Built around the actual load. Wells, supports and protection are designed for the specific product, not the other way round.
- Proven in steelworks. The manufacturer reports growing use in steelworks, among other things for transporting hot slabs.
- Weather protection for the cargo. Various covering systems are available for outdoor transport.
Applications
- Steelworks – moving hot slabs and coils between production stages.
- The metal industry – transporting bars, profiles and semi-finished products.
- Hazardous cargo – versions for materials requiring special securing and protection.
Rail transport carts

Rail transport carts are designed for internal rail-bound transport of heavy loads inside and outside production halls. Each cart is custom-designed according to the size, weight and particularities of the load. Electric drive powered from a battery or the mains and diesel-electric drive are available. Capacities reach up to 300 tonnes; completed examples include a combination of two carts with a joint capacity of 480 tonnes.
Benefits
- A repeatable route without a driver. Rail transport guarantees a precise, always identical route between units.
- Very high capacities. Rails permit loads that wheeled vehicles cannot achieve on industrial floors.
- Flexible power supply. Battery, mains or diesel-electric drive depending on plant conditions.
Applications
- Steelworks and foundries – moving coils, ladles and semi-finished products between units.
- The paper industry – transporting paper rolls.
- Mechanical engineering – moving machine parts along an established internal route.
Goosenecks

The gooseneck is the link between the roll trailer and the tractor; depending on the version and conditions it can be removable or permanently mounted on the trailer. Sizes SH30, SH36 (36 t) and SH45 (45 t) are available, along with the special HK 40 hook coupling and GSH forklift versions for capacities from 10 to 30 tonnes, which can be operated with an ordinary forklift. According to the manufacturer, modern applications reach capacities of 200 tonnes and more.
Benefits
- Frees the tractor and the trailer. Goosenecks parked in a storage stand allow the tractor and trailer to take on other jobs.
- A forklift version. The GSH variant allows work with roll trailers without a dedicated tractor.
- Matched to the tractor's fifth wheel. Sizes are selected according to the fifth-wheel load of the existing tractor.
Applications
- Ports and RoRo terminals – connecting roll trailers to tractors during transhipment.
- Industrial plants – moving roll trailers between production and dispatch.
- Plants with forklifts – using forklift goosenecks instead of buying a tractor.
Cassettes

SEACOM cassettes are used worldwide for transporting containers, paper, steel coils and other extremely heavy cargo. The decks can be wooden, sheet-steel or steel-grating, and the cassettes are built to the customer's specification. Completed examples include cassettes with capacities of 80, 120 and 200 tonnes and a cassette with a 25 m³ box with hydraulically operated rear doors.
Benefits
- The cargo is set down, not kept waiting. The cassette stays under the load while the transport vehicle is immediately free.
- Built to specification. The design, deck and capacity are determined by the actual cargo.
- Very high capacities. Versions reach 200 tonnes and more.
Applications
- The paper industry – transporting and buffering paper rolls.
- Steelworks – moving coils and scrap.
- Ports – interim storage and transport of container and project cargo.
Custom special vehicles

For projects the standard programme does not cover, SEACOM builds special vehicles. Completed examples include tipping trailers with a 120 m³ box, roll trailers with a built-in weighing system for 170 and 200 tonnes, lifting roll trailers with capacities of 120 and 130 tonnes, tipping roll trailers, and vehicles for moving ships and scrap-metal boxes with capacities up to 250 tonnes.
Benefits
- A solution where the catalogue is not enough. The vehicle is designed around the load and the space, not the other way round.
- Built-in extra functions. Weighing, lifting and tipping can be integrated directly into the transport unit.
- One device instead of several steps. Combined functions eliminate transhipment between individual stages.
Applications
- Steelworks – scrap boxes with weighing for precise charging of the furnace.
- Shipbuilding and heavy project cargo – moving very large and heavy pieces.
- Waste and recycling – tipping versions with large volumes.
